Our 2021 highlights!

So much has happened in the last 12 months we could write a book! But for now we have just picked some of the highlights of 2021 for you.

Our team:

2021 has been a very busy year for us! This has resulted in needing to expand our incredible team across all departments.

In the last twelve months, we have welcomed twenty-two new joiners (increasing our team from 23 to 45 equalling a 96% growth) and had an impressive five promotions within the team too!

Digital & live events:

Despite the beginning of the year starting with event restrictions, this year we have: created 111 websites, had 61 live events, and a total of 78 virtual events (we told you, it’s been a very busy year!)

Throughout 2021 our digital events have attracted over 300,000 users with a watch time on virtual events alone totalling 308 days, 8 hours, 54 mins, 58 seconds.

We became an EOT:

In April this year, we became an employee ownership trust and elected our first employee council!

Catherine Wallace, Employee Engagement Manager: We believe an Employee Ownership Trust is a great way of ensuring the legacy and integrity of First Event. One of our main aims is to ensure our employees have even more of a voice in the company through the creation of an employee council. The benefits of First Event becoming an EOT are vast, statistics show that EOTs have greater employee engagement and commitment which in turn drives innovation and business performance

World's BIGGEST Blockchain event:

As you also might have heard (not that we’ve talked about it much!) in September we were part of the largest online blockchain event to date!

The hybrid event ran over two days with lots of footage either pre-recorded or live streamed from stages in one location to a virtual conference platform and to watch parties around the globe! In total we had 140,000+ users visit the virtual summit from 180+ countries with a total of 1.4 million page views! You can read more about it here.

Christmas party!

After celebrating virtually last year, one of our biggest highlights of 2021 was being able to get together and celebrate together in person this year!

The team headed to Merry Manchester on the 3rd of Dec for a team away day. You can view some of our best bits here!
