A UK recruitment specialist rewards its ‘best of best’ performers each year with an incentive trip, designed to motivate and inspire. The challenge for us, as well as tailor making a ‘money can’t buy’ overseas trip, was creating a bespoke trip to satisfy the clients’ passion to make a difference in the destination and including a worthwhile CSR activity in the winner's programme.
Against other event agencies, we pitched and delivered a once in a lifetime incentive trip to South Africa.
To start with, guests were privately checked-in at Heathrow, with a welcome announcement from the captain on-board. On arrival in Cape Town, winners were taken for a champagne and canapé picnic reception on lion’s head, with awesome views overlooking the city and Table Mountain.
Moving on, winners were checked into the exclusive Radisson Hotel, which sat right on the waterfront before enjoying the ultimate relaxing dinner overlooking Camps Bay.
The next morning on Red Nose Day we visited Alpine primary, an inner-city school where they helped build a ‘Jungle Gym’ playground. This involved everything from shoveling sand pits, erecting wooden structures and attaching tyre swings.
Afterward, winners handed out gifts including books and educational toys, with pencil cases from the client and First Event. A cheque for the school and awards for top pupils were then presented, followed by a BBQ with the children and teachers.
That evening, the group went for a relaxed dinner at Quay Four on the V&A Waterfront and then on to a club. The rest of the Cape Town incentive trip included a safari experience, with shark cage diving and hang gliding for the more adventurous. The trip ended with an exclusive dinner at Baia, where the group was met by Dixie style troupe, The Cape Minstrels, who provided a musical escort to dinner.
