OUR BRIEF:

Our client hosts the largest coworking conference series in the world, focusing on the advancement of the coworking movement and how it can continue to grow. Having held conferences all over the world, our client wanted to host their September 2018 event in London – which would be the first in Europe.

Requirements included a venue with multiple conference rooms, ample space for networking and exhibitor stands, refreshments and lunch catering, and a central location that is easily accessible both nationally and internationally.

THE SOLUTION:

Taking all of our client’s requirements into account, we suggested Kings Place, a venue located in the heart of King’s Cross, and providing easy access to those travelling both nationally and internationally – with train stations and international airports close by. The event space is extremely versatile, having hosted a wide range of events across a variety of industries, and is adaptable in order to meet all event needs.

The event took place over two floors, with the upper level being used for casual refreshments and lunch, along with exhibitor stands and seating areas for delegates to reflect and decide on the topic they’d like to submit as part of the ‘unconference.’ Ideas were submitted onto an ‘unconference wall,’ which encouraged delegates to share their ideas on post-it notes and stick them to a specially-designed wall for them to be further discussed as part of the upcoming sessions.

Design was an important factor of the event, and having an in-house design team meant that we were able to work with the client throughout the entire design process and see the development of the event’s design elements to fruition. Bespoke materials produced to support the event included pull-up banners, window and wall stickers, lanyards and itineraries. This ensured the brand identity of the event remained evident throughout the conference, and was an immediate indicator when delegates arrived at the venue.

Conference sessions were split into ‘conference’ and ‘unconference’ sessions, meaning that scheduled speakers and contributors were able to talk about intended topics, as well as delegates being able to decide on the focus of some of the conference content. This premise (which our client uses across all of their events), successfully engaged delegates and put them in control of their own experience, ensuring they got exactly what they wanted and needed from the event.
