Iceland incentive event
No. of delegates: 40
Location: Reykjavik, Iceland
Event type: Incentive sales trip
Industry: Technology
Event objectives:
A brand new client came to us with the goal of increasing their customer sales. Our solution was to motivate their customers to drive sales was with a once in a lifetime incentive trip to Iceland!
In order to secure their spot on the trip, customers had to reach carefully allocated targets, each designed to bring the entire team closer to their wider goal of increasing sales. To create a truly motivating opportunity that would inspire sales-boosting performances, we knew we needed to craft the perfect event, shaped around the interests of the delegates.
After spending some quality time getting to know our delegates, we designed an event with the perfect balance of exhilarating activities and sightseeing. We discovered that a lot of the delegates were huge foodies, so we knew we needed to pull out all the stops and give them the opportunity to try out the finest local cuisines.
To ensure we were offering the best Icelandic experience possible, we headed out to the chosen destination 3 months before to explore the local restaurants and activities, making sure that only the best were selected for the event itinerary.
Once the perfect itinerary had been crafted, we built a bespoke registration site, with full delegate management capabilities. We kept delegates engaged and motivated with a campaign of email communications, sending them key information for the trip as well as facts and best-kept secrets about the destination!
Event overview:
To create that VIP feel right from the get go, guests were greeted at the airport by the event team with a fully branded hotel transfer.
After arriving in Reykjavik, guests enjoyed a drinks reception and time at leisure for them to settle into their rooms at Hotel Reykjavik Marina, Slippbarinn. Our client wanted to make sure their guests felt special and valued, so with this in mind we organised for each guest to receive a welcome gift, waiting for them in their hotel room. They were gifted a Saltwerk duo of lava and sea salt, Einstok Icelandic beer, a branded beanie, jacket and a branded phone case too.
The guests then set out for the Ingolfsskali Viking dinner experience for a fantastic feast. Like true Vikings, guests drank through a horn and ate food that the Ingólfsskálli family hunts and gathers from the Icelandic landscape, proving the most authentic experience and freshest tastes.
To start day 2, delegates had breakfast at the hotel before heading off for an off-roading experience in Super Sprinters for the famous Golden Circle Tour.
First stop: Thingvellir National Park, where guests got to watch the sunrise over the streams.
Second stop: Geothermal Geysir area to see the impressive “Strokkur” erupt, followed by a buffet lunch at Hotel Geysir.
Third stop: Gullfoss Waterfall, where the canyon walls on both sides of the waterfall reach heights of up to 70 meters and descend into the great Gullfossgjúfur Canyon.
Fourth stop: A trip to Iceland wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Sky Lagoon, an event highlight for all!
Final stop: Time to refuel at Fish Company, whose traditional Icelandic dishes are expertly crafted with a Nordic fusion touch.
