The Challenge

Strong workplace cultures aren’t built through day-to-day operations alone. They grow when people have the opportunity to connect beyond their job titles, departments and responsibilities.
For this long-standing client, the challenge was clear: how do you bring together an entire workforce, from cleaners and lorry drivers to leadership and operations teams, and create genuine opportunities for connection?
With employees spread across different roles and locations, the objective wasn’t simply to reward people. It was to strengthen relationships, encourage collaboration and create a greater sense of belonging across the organisation.
Tell Us About Your Event
A saxophonist plays at an upmarket indoor-outdoor event, reflected in glass beside him, as well-dressed guests enjoy drinks and engage in shared experiences, mingling and conversing throughout the evening. A group of people sit at long tables under a large white marquee outdoors, surrounded by greenery and fairy lights, enjoying shared experiences at a lively social gathering on a sunny day. A group of people sit around a table, smiling and raising their glasses for a toast, celebrating shared experiences in a lively, crowded restaurant with warm lighting. A boat with tourists sails down a canal lined with historic, ornate buildings and outdoor cafés under umbrellas in a lively European city, where shared experiences bring people together along the bustling waterfront promenade.

The Solution

We designed an employee engagement offsite event in Ghent, bringing together 110 attendees for a shared experience built around connection, culture and community.
Over seven months of planning, every element of the programme was designed to break down barriers and encourage meaningful interaction. From culinary discovery walks and canal tours to informal social moments and a gala celebration, the experience gave people space to connect naturally outside of their usual working environment.
More than an employee trip, this was a strategic investment in culture, creating the conditions for stronger relationships, greater understanding and a lasting sense of belonging.

People are enjoying drinks and sharing experiences on boats labelled Rederij Dewaele, moored along a canal in a lively European city, with buildings, cafés, and a bridge in the background. Two smiling men wearing sunglasses take a selfie at an outdoor restaurant table, capturing shared experiences with friends enjoying food and drinks on a sunny day. The lively, relaxed scene is framed by plants in the background. Two people share a walk down a narrow alley covered in colourful graffiti and street art, where vibrant designs, stickers, and murals celebrate shared experiences. Other people can be seen further ahead in the alley. A group of people share experiences as they ride in a small boat on a canal, some taking photos and holding a rainbow umbrella. A stone bridge and large gothic church are visible in the background, with people relaxing by the water.
