Love what
you do

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” – Peter Drucker

A clear strategy is important to ensuring a business can expand and grow. But, a clear strategy is nothing without the people that make it happen.

That’s why we firmly believe that our success depends on our people. We want every single person in the First Event Fam to love what they do and to be proud of the events they create.

Life at First Event

You won’t find a workplace culture like ours!

Our #FirstEventFam is a close-knit community dedicated to providing a seamless service to deliver amazing results for our clients.

And, whilst a First Event-er does need to be good at spinning plates, we also make sure we have a lot of FUN!

Don’t believe us? Check out our Instagram to see what life is really like at First Event.

And did we also mention that we are one of The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work? We think you’d really like working here…

Our values

We love that our vibrant team is made up of so many different personalities. No matter how different we are, we’re all united by our core First Event values, which sum up the kind of people we’re looking for.

These are the values that bring us together, make us a force to be reckoned with, and help us deliver the outstanding events we’re globally recognised for.

We are employee owned

We learn together, we play together

In 2021, we became an employee-owned company. This move not only secured our strong ethos, creative freedom, and core values, but it also cemented our independence for the future.

Our employee council, made up of members across all departments, works closely with our management team to provide a positive and encouraging environment for everyone who works here to flourish and thrive.

Fancy a job?

The usual stuff

  • A competitive salary.
  • Enhanced pension plan.
  • Access to a healthcare scheme.

A positive, supportive environment to work with autonomy with opportunities to progress!

Flexible working

We’re open to anything – as long as it works for you, your team and the company, it works for us!

Unlimited holidays

Yes, you read that right. We are proud to offer unlimited holidays to our team! Flexible working has revolutionised how, where and when we all do our work. So, if working nine to five wasn’t working for us, then why should we still be following strict annual leave policies? You’re encouraged to take as many holiday days as you need – so long as you can get your job done, meet your deadlines and deliver that First Event standard of work to your wider team and clients.

Everyone should take time out when they need it. That’s why we offer one extra paid day off a year to do something for your mental health.

Company get togethers

We all get together four times a year for our company wide strategy days to talk all things business. But we don’t just work hard, we play hard too, with team away days and company conferences abroad (a previous destination was New York…need we say more?)

To ensure everyone in the business has the skills they need to smash their job role, we get together every quarter as a team for internal training at an exciting offsite location.

Reward and recognition

Being an employee owned company means that when the business does well, we all do well. Our First Event bonus scheme means that we can recognise and reward those who put in the extra graft to go above and beyond. If you stick with us you will also benefit from long service rewards too.

Employee assistance scheme

Our employee assistance scheme means you can look after your health and wellbeing through a selection of services such as coaching and counselling sessions from our trusted EAS providers.

Living wage employer

We are proud to be a Living Wage employer, joining many UK organisations, businesses and people who believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

Endometriosis-friendly employer

We believe that it’s important to create a working environment that is inclusive and supportive of all our employees, including those who may be dealing with Endometriosis. We strive to raise awareness about the condition and provide the necessary support and accommodations to help our employees manage their symptoms.

What our
people say

We’re not ones to brag but our employee net promoter score is an impressive 80%. Don’t like braggers? Have a listen to what our people have to say about working in the #FirstEventFam!

Fancy a job?

First Event is only as good as the people who work here. That’s why we’re always looking for new skill sets and perspectives to help us take our events to the next level. Take a look through our current vacancies then start jazzing up that CV. We can’t wait to hear from you!
