The NHS West Yorkshire Knowledge Exchange Virtual Event Series

Powering a trauma-informed future through connection, content and event partnership

This case study explores how we supported the West Yorkshire Knowledge Exchange series,  bringing people together through powerful content, seamless delivery and innovative event design. Across multiple years, we helped turn complex, sensitive subject matter into engaging, human experiences that connected audiences and inspired action.

The event goals

Since 2022, we’ve partnered with the West Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership and Violence Reduction Unit to deliver the Adversity, Trauma and Resilience Knowledge Exchange event series. A programme designed to drive systemic change across health, care and communities.

All while addressing one of society’s most pressing challenges: the lifelong impact of trauma, affecting up to 70% of people, with significant health, social and economic consequences.

At its core, the Knowledge Exchange event series existed to:

  • Unite a complex system, connecting professionals, services and communities across West Yorkshire

  • Educate and inspire action, translating theory into practical, real-world delivery

  • Create safe, inclusive spaces where lived experience can be shared openly and respectfully

  • Showcase impact and progress, demonstrating why trauma-informed approaches matter

  • Build a lasting legacy, embedding learning beyond the event through on-demand content and resources

How did we deliver the event production?

Our in-house studio and event production team powered the entire experience, giving us full control over the quality, creativity and delivery. From our fully equipped broadcast studio, we delivered:

  • Multi-camera live streaming
  • Fully branded, customisable set design
  • Live and pre-recorded content integration
  • Speaker management, briefing and coaching
  • Real-time content direction and switching
  • On-screen graphics, captions and accessibility features
  • Seamless integration of virtual contributors

As a full-service corporate event agency, we didn’t just deliver the tech; we managed every detail. From content flow to technical delivery, we ensured a smooth, professional experience for speakers, stakeholders and audiences alike.

How did we evolve the event experience?

Through a multi-year event partnership, the event series became a cornerstone for West Yorkshire’s trauma-informed journey, and a trusted space for connection, learning and shared experience. Since 2022, we have designed and delivered:

  • A fully custom virtual event platform
  • An on-demand content hub, extending the life of the event
  • Interactive features including live Q&A, chat, networking and gamification
  • A hybrid event evolution blending digital access with real-world connection

All managed through a single, integrated platform, ensuring seamless event management and a consistent, high-quality experience.

In 2026, the series culminated in a live awards event, marking not an end but a transition into a lasting regional legacy.

How did we create a safe space for difficult conversations?

Trauma is personal and often difficult to talk about, so every virtual and hybrid event experience was designed with psychological safety at its core.

Through our event platform, we created an environment where attendees felt safe to share, listen and learn through:

  • Moderated live chat and anonymous Q&A
  • Interactive features like the “Diary Room” for reflections and pledges
  • Thoughtfully designed content journeys
  • A games hub to provide space between heavier sessions
  • A hybrid event format, blending digital accessibility with in-person connection
  • Carefully selected, trained and qualified speakers — supported with briefing and coaching to ensure they felt confident, comfortable and prepared to share sensitive content

The results

Together, through our event partnership, we helped shift mindsets, strengthen collaboration, amplify lived experience and build momentum for long-term cultural change. Across the five-year programme, the series achieved:

  • 200+ professionals per event, building a strong cross-sector audience
  • Up to 30 sessions across two days, delivering rich, multi-layered content
  • Strong audience retention across both days
  • 350+ stream views in a single day
  • Hundreds of platform interactions, demonstrating active engagement
  • Continuous growth from virtual to hybrid formats, maintaining impact and expanding reach

Most importantly, the series helped bring West Yorkshire closer to becoming a trauma-informed and responsive system by 2030.
