Conference in Sorrento

No. of delegates: 500

Location: Sorrento, Italy

Event type: conference and networking

Industry: Construction

Event objectives:

With the pandemic putting many events on hold for two years, the objectives for our clients event were more important than ever before.

The aim of the trip was to take the opportunity to meet new colleagues face to face and explore, in depth, how the construction industry is changing and where it’s heading in the future whilst being surrounded by the beautiful Amalfi Coast in Sorrento.

Before the event:

This event was three years in the making, therefore we had plenty of time to prepare and perfect.

Our in house design, marketing and website teams began to create the excitement with a bespoke event conference website, e-shots and itinerary packs. The event branding was matched on site with brochures, banners, branded merchandise, lanyards, screens and stickers.

Event overview:

Day one

Activities day, this day was all about allowing the guests to catch up, reacquaint or introduce themselves to those they haven’t yet met within the industry.

First Event provided the 500 delegates with plenty of activities for day one of the event including a boat trip to Capri, Almafi drive and a bike and hike.

The trip to Capri was one of the highlights of the event, from stepping foot into the water and seeing the sights of Sorrento, Capri and the horizon from the Tyrrhenian sea. In Capri the delegates headed up to the very top of the island to the summit of Monte Solaro, soaring 589 meters above sea level, is the highest and most panoramic point on the island.

After taking in the views, everyone took the chair lift back down to enjoy an Italian three course meal and some delicious wine. After lunch guests explored the island, and checked out the shops before heading back to the boat.

In the evening the delegates were welcomed to the event a drinks reception and dinner in the citrus gardens! Sitting under hanging oranges and lemons, and decorated with branded bunting, fairy lights swinging from the trees, Italian themed table decor and food stands. There was a roaming band playing Italian classics and instrumentals of well known songs, which put a smile on everyone’s face and set the atmosphere for the evening.

Day two

Day two was the first official morning of the conference in Sorrento, our venue finding expertise was key to ensuring that the space had the capacity and capabilities to host an impressive, smooth conference with no hiccups! The venue offered the perfect location for superb audio, visuals to grab and keep the attention of the audience throughout.

After the conference, it was time for lunch, and an afternoon at leisure. With time to get ready for an evening of dinearounds. There were 3 different groups, which meant three different stunning local restaurants.  Including, Soul and fish which floated on the sea, Ristorante ‘O Parrucchiano La Favorita, the most famous restaurant in Sorrento and Relais blu a modern rooftop boutique hotel.

Day three

Day three saw the final morning of the conference! Afterwards a group of delegates got the opportunity to explore Pompeii, ticking off a bucket list experience while others enjoyed an afternoon at leisure, exploring all Sorrento has to offer for the last time.

The final night closed the incredible trip with the beautiful gala dinner! Delegates were treated to a three course Italian feast with entertainment including a harpist, pianist, opera singer, and speeches.
